New to crypto

Start at the beginning. No jargon, no pressure.

If crypto feels like a language you never learned, this page is for you. Read it in order, take your time, and ask XAB Coach whenever a word doesn't land.

Six ideas that unlock the rest

01

What crypto actually is

Cryptocurrency is digital value recorded on a shared public ledger instead of inside one bank's private database. No single company owns the record, and anyone can verify it.

02

Bitcoin vs. XRP

Bitcoin is designed as digital money and a store of value. XRP is designed for speed and settlement — moving value between currencies and institutions in seconds at a fraction of a cent.

03

The XRP Ledger (XRPL)

The XRPL settles transactions in 3-5 seconds, is energy efficient, and now processes more than 3.8 million payments a day across 90+ countries.

04

Wallets and custody

A wallet holds the keys, not the coins. Whoever controls the private key controls the funds. Never share a seed phrase — not with support, not with an upline, not with anyone.

05

What arbitrage means

Arbitrage is buying an asset where it is cheaper and selling it where it is dearer at the same moment. The profit comes from the price gap, not from guessing which way the market will go.

06

Risk, in plain language

Crypto prices move sharply, projections are not promises, and any programme paying a return carries risk. Only commit money you can genuinely afford to leave alone.

A sensible order

Your first five steps

  1. 1Learn the vocabulary before spending anything — wallet, key, ledger, exchange, spread.
  2. 2Set up a wallet you control and back the recovery phrase up offline, on paper.
  3. 3Start with a small amount you would be comfortable losing entirely.
  4. 4Verify every link and address twice; scams imitate real brands almost perfectly.
  5. 5Keep a written plan: why you bought, what you expect, and when you would stop.

Safety non-negotiables

  • Nobody legitimate will ever ask for your seed phrase or private key.
  • Guaranteed returns do not exist in any market. Treat the words 'risk free' as a warning.
  • Urgency is a sales tool. A good decision survives sleeping on it.
  • Use only official domains and bookmark them. Ignore links from DMs.
  • Understand fees, lock-ups and exit conditions before, not after, you commit.
